…We took the 7 mile Curtis Creek trip and loved every moment. The staff were so nice, friendly and excellent to work with. The canoe and kayaks we had were in excellent shape. We went on a Sunday which was a slow day on the river which we enjoyed more. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a good time and a time to enjoy being outside.

Beautiful river. I kayaked to Curtis Creek about 3.5 hours without a lot of paddling. Saw turtles, fish, river otters, cranes, geese, and other birds. Water wasn’t deep several shallow areas. Staff courteous and friendly. Will go again.

Staff is awesome to work with. Great family fun. We took the 7 mile to Curtis creek. We do this each year with the family.

Enjoyed kayaking the Pigeon River. We took the Curtis Creek trip. Not too difficult, just enough obstacles to make it interesting. First time we had to portage around a dam;…A van was waiting for us when we finished and took us back to our car. Overall it was a great experience.

Everyone was extremely nice. They took the time to explain the route to 3 beginner kayakers. The route (Nasby Dam) was easy to navigate and took about 2 hours at a leisurely pace. We really enjoyed the experience and if we ever return to this area we will definitely do it again.

We did the Nasby Dam our first trip which was a nice and scenic trip. This year we did the Curtis Creek trip and truly enjoyed the added challenge and swifter water after our portage around Nasby Dam…Everyone at the Trading Post couldn’t have been nicer. We’ll definitely be back!

My family and I went kayaking on a Tuesday to the Nasby Dam. It was a slow paced, quiet day. We really enjoyed the peace and the beauty. Booking an appointment was easily done on line. The staff was so friendly and helpful…

An afternoon on the Pigeon River, outfitted by the Mongo Trading Post, is a memory to treasure. The prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly and efficient and the scenery is lovely. We saw turtles and ducks, the old water wheel and shed and, of course, the dam is beautiful with a bit of hiking in the vicinity…

Had an amazing weekend! The staff is ALWAYS super helpful! We stayed Friday-Sunday and went Kayaking on the Nasby Dam trip. Nice campground for families….Dog friendly, AWESOME…

Awesome experience, fantastic & friendly staff, fun for the whole family! …We appreciated their flexibility and effort to let us know what our options were. We will definitely be back to do a longer trip!

Update: We did another trip this summer and ha another great experience. The whole process is well organized, and all the staff are super helpful and nice. Highly recommended!

…exceeded all expectations. From the meticulously upkept canprground with it’s fishing pond, river and majestic trees, to the campground facilities that were clean, easily accessible, and smelling fresh. This place is a gem. My girlfriend and I did the 13mile Refuge Bridge kayak trip…The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The campground is very family friendly…Just an all around wonderful experience. We will be back.

Staff is very kind from the front office to the helpers when you arrive back at the post. The bus ride to the Refuge Bridge was a blast as the driver interacted with our group and prepared us for a great day on the water! The equipment we rented was in great shape and we had an amazing time on the river! Took us about 7 hours to complete the 13 mile paddle but there was plenty of shallow areas to stop and converse as a group.

We put in at Refuge Bridge, what an awesome day! The water was great, nature scenery was beautiful, and it was absolutely quiet! Loved it.

…If you make a reasonable request before you go I’m sure they will do their best to provide for you! The river is also a great trip, me and 5 others went on their Refuge Bridge trip and it was fantastic! I highly recommend them to anyone who is interested in doing something like this.

I booked a trip for July 11, 2020, Saturday, 0800. 1 canoe, 2 adults, Refuge Bridge. My dad (73 years old) and I had a wonderful time! Excellent customer service. The weather was perfect. I’d recommend bringing bug spray.

…We did the Refuge Bridge kayaking trip and it was quite enjoyable. Especially as staff takes the time to make sure the river is clean. I will definitely go back again the next chance I get!

The staff here are always friendly and helpful! They help you into the water at your put-in and help you out when you get to their beach landing area. Their equipment is always in good shape with a good selection of choices…We had 17 boats on the water and 25 people. They were awesome all the way around. This is why they have become our favorite boating destination!

We had such a great experience here! The staff was so friendly and accommodating every step of the way. We spent one night camping here and kayaked down their river… Kayaking from Refuge Bridge was very pleasant, it’s an excellent river for slow paced kayaking…

…It was very easy to get online and set-up a trip to go. All of your paperwork can be done ahead of time and brought with you…They leave promptly at the time you have scheduled and I like that. You can bring a cooler with food and drink but please bag up your trash as you go along and pick-up other trash you find. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They have nice canoes. We chose to be dropped at the Spero Bridge and canoe back…

My friend and I had a great time. We took the Spero Bridge trip which was 10 miles—mostly on a winding, forest filled route which was ideal shaking off the hectic work week. No traffic sounds,just birds singing and frogs croaking. The staff was nice and helpful…the river was gentle and it was an easy trip. They have clean showers, changing rooms and indoor bathrooms. I will be coming back!

We took a canoeing and camping trip and we had a blast! We took the Spero bridge leg of the river. It was 10 miles and it was perfect!…Can’t wait to go back! Getting a campsite was a great idea also! Campground is clean and we had plenty of room for our two large tents! Each campsite has a fire ring and a picnic table. We had an electric site so that was convenient too!

Great kayaking trip! Enjoyed being on our own and doing it at our pace.
We forgot to take mosquito spray and advise everyone that you will need it!
